In 2016, the inspiration was brewed when three women united to contemplate a concept. They noticed a remarkable absence in the heart of the picturesque Hocking Hills. What was missing? A coffee shop! The journey to manifest this vision began with a single notion: “Three women with a pot of coffee can change the world!” Picture us—each clutching a coffee cup, ideas percolating as freely as the brew before us. And so, on that night, JUGS (Just Us Gals) was born! We laid out our plans, scrapping several along the way, and then stumbled upon this property. It’s peaceful presence, no doubt left behind from it’s long history of prior owners. We envisioned a boutique inn tailored for the glamping crowd, a vintage haven layered with modern comforts. Yet, amid our scheming, the concept of a coffee shop remained a persistent beacon, tantalizingly within reach. Pooling our resources, talents, and unyielding determination, we embarked on the audacious journey to create a warm, inviting haven—a coffee shop and inn that would serve as a nucleus for the community, where locals and travelers could converge, briefly escaping the whirlwind of life. Here, one could savor a drink, engage in conversation, and bask in the splendor of the Hocking Hills. The culmination of this endeavor? The Hocking Hills Inn & Coffee Emporium. Within these walls, we showcase premium, small-batch roasted coffee procured from a local, woman-owned roastery. Quality is our cornerstone, evident in every offering. Our culinary creations are meticulously crafted, our specialty drinks unparalleled. But our venture is not solely about coffee and cuisine; it’s about forging connections, cultivating moments of respite, and embracing the essence of this wondrous locale.
